David Beckham was born in Leytonstone, London and is the son of Sandra a hairdresser and David a Kitchen Fitter; he has two Sisters, Lynne and Joanne and he attended the local Chingford School.

When David was fourteen he signed schoolboy forms for Manchester United a club which he had supported all his life. In July 1991 he then signed a Youth Training Scheme Contract with the club, he then went on to win the FA Youth Cup in May 1992 when they played Crystal Palace, Beckham scoring in the second leg. David played for Manchester United's first team in 1992 when they played Brighton and Hove Albion and later that year he signed his first professional contract for the club.

Beckhams debut in the UEFA Champions League came in December 1994 were he scored in their 4-0 win over Galatasaray. During the next season United wanted to give him some first team games so they loaned him to Preston North End. His chance of a premiership game came in April 1995 when he played against Leeds United in a match that ended without a goal. Beckham became a regular player for the first team and his performance meant they won the FA Cup and the Premiership titles that season.
Beckham then went on to help United win the Treble in 1998, he played a major role in this by scoring a goal in their last league match of the season against Tottenham Hotspur and they won their match in the UEFA Final against Bayern Munich by scoring two goals in injury time both were from corners from Beckham, his performance that season saw him runner up for the prestigious title of European Footballer of the year and the FIFA World player of the year.

Beckham was now becoming a household name and on September 1st 1996 he played his first game for England against Moldova. He played in the subsequent England World Cup qualifiers and played a crucial part in the finals in France scoring his first England goal, a stunning free kick against Columbia resulting in a 2 - 0 victory for England. A low point for Beckham was when he was sent off in the match against Argentina, this was after he was fouled by Diego Simeone, he later retaliated by kicking the player, Simeone later admitted trying to get him red carded and the referee was encouraged to send him off by his fellow team mates.

In July 2003 David Beckham signed a lucrative four year contract with Real Madrid the fee was reported as £25 Million, David soon became a huge hit with the fans after he scored his first goal for club in under three minutes of his debut game against La Liga.
David Beckham got in to trouble at Real Madrid when he was red carded in a match against Valencia, he initially received a yellow card but because he clapped the referee he was sent off, he later appealed against this decision and won, the suspension was then cancelled.

He signed a contract to play for Los Angeles Galaxy in January 2007 and made his playing debut on 21st July that year when they played Chelsea, he scored his first goal for the team against D.C United on the 15th August. He had to wait until April to score his first league goal, this was against San Jose Earthquakes in the 9th minute.

David Beckham also is passionate about training the future football stars and has two David Beckham Academys one at Greenwich and the other at Los Angeles, the Greenwich Acadamy is the largest facility of its kind in europe.
